What is Red Lead?

A chemically precise lead oxide compound renowned for its corrosion-inhibiting properties and industrial versatility.

Red Lead, chemically known as Lead Tetroxide (Pb₃O₄), is a high-purity compound prepared from lead of minimum 99.98% purity. Its characteristic orange-red to brick-red colour makes it visually distinctive, and its water-insoluble nature makes it ideal for protective coatings.

The compound is widely used as a corrosion-inhibiting primer on steel structures across industries. Its superior bonding capacity and durability make it the first-choice coating in demanding environments where structural integrity is paramount.
